What are excipients, and why are they in my peptide?

Modern peptide manufacturing uses excipients, and Peptidology products are no different. Excipients are the inactive ingredients included alongside the active peptide to keep the product stable and usable.

They do more work than most people realize. Without excipients, the product would generally require refrigeration, single-compound and blended products may not form into a proper lyophilization cake or reconstitute properly, and the shelf life would be much shorter.

Generally speaking, excipients fall into a few functional roles. You'll find stabilizers that help the product freeze-dry into a proper cake, agents that reduce clumping, buffering agents that keep the pH stable, and tonicity adjusters that keep the salt concentration balanced.

We don't share the specific excipients or ratios used in our products. Those formulations are considered intellectual property, in part because some of these compounds are difficult to manufacture properly. That is the primary reason we keep the exact details private.
