Our analytical standards, explained — and how to verify them for your batch.

At Peptidology, quality isn't a marketing claim — it's an engineering discipline. Every batch we release is built around an analytical program designed to confirm identity, purity, potency, and sterility before a single vial ships. This page explains what we test, why we test it, and how to verify the results for the exact batch you receive.

We're also in the middle of an upgrade. We built our reputation on a 7-point analytical protocol (7x) that already went well beyond the two to three tests typical of the research-chemical industry. We're now extending an expanded 14-point protocol (14x) across our catalog — and more than half of our eligible products have already completed the full 14x panel, with the remainder following batch by batch. The Certificate of Analysis (COA) on every product shows precisely which tests were run on that lot, so you're never left guessing about what your specific batch received.

More than 50% of eligible products now carry our full 14x analytical panel — up from our legacy 7x protocol, and expanding across the catalog. Whichever protocol a batch is tested under, every test must pass, and each batch's COA documents exactly what was performed.

How do I store my products?

Bacteriostatic water

Unopened bacteriostatic water can be kept at room temperature for up to 2 years from the date of manufacture and should be discarded by its expiration date.

Once a vial of bacteriostatic water is opened, date it and discard any remaining fluid after 28 days or sooner, or if the solution becomes cloudy, discolored, or otherwise compromised.

Why 28 days?

USP <797> “Sterile Compounding” sets a default beyond‑use date (BUD) of 28 days for any multi‑dose container that contains an antimicrobial preservative. The CDC safety guidance adopts the same limit.

Bacteriostatic water qualifies because it contains 0.9 % (9 mg mL‑1) benzyl alcohol. The preservative slows, but does not stop, microbial growth. So its effectiveness drops with each entry.

Peptides

We recommend storing our sterile lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides in the freezer. To reduce moisture contamination during storage, our peptides are either packaged vacuum sealed or nitrogen filled. The protective vaccum may result in challenges removing reconstituted peptide from the vial.

Once peptides are to be used, bring them up to room temperature before reconstitution with your lab reagents or solvents.

Once the sterile peptide is reconstituted, store in the refrigerator at 2 – 8 °C (above freezing).

Are Product COAs (Certificates of Analysis) included?

Yes — every lot we sell has its own Certificate of Analysis, and you can view and download the one that matches your exact lot.

We don't issue generic or representative paperwork. Each lot is released against its own lot-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA), so the results you're looking at correspond to the precise lot in your hands.

What's on the COA

Every COA reports the results of our 14-point analytical release program, including:

Chromatographic purity and net peptide content (HPLC)
Bacterial endotoxins (LAL)
Sterility — confirmed by two independent laboratories: compendial USP <71> and rapid ScanRDI detection
Heavy metals — arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, and mercury (ICP-MS)
Residual solvents (GC-MS)
Container-closure integrity and solubility
Residual trifluoroacetic acid (TFA)

Analytical testing is performed under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation, and finished product is manufactured to cGMP-aligned quality systems.

How to find your COA

Sign in to your account and visit our Certificates of Analysis page. Match the lot number printed on your vial to the corresponding COA to confirm you're viewing the results for the exact lot you received.

Peptidology currently does not offer local pickup for orders. All orders are shipped from our designated facilities to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
